As a 7 year old first paying attention to baseball in 1985, living in west Michigan across the state from the Tigers, Darrell Evans was one of my first favorite players!

Good choice. He’s the same age as my dad, and I developed a real affinity for him as they both neared and entered their 40s.

A little different take here, since Nolan Ryan was long past his time with the Mets by the time this card was issued, but I'm going with 1990 Topps #2 since the Nolan career highlights subset was what immediately popped into my mind as a young Texas Ranger fan at the time... but if I'd thought about it more, the 1990 Upper Deck Nolan Ryan Baseball Heroes #18 checklist card with the career montage painting was also a beautiful piece of art and would probably be my preferred choice here. Either way, a collector couldn't go wrong with Nolan back then and I still have a big box devoted to just his cards.

Very cool picks. Nolan really caught fire in the hobby once he moved to the Rangers. Great memories!

For a player in his old uniform, I suppose I could go with a Dale Murphy card. I still get shivers whenever I see him in that nasty Ph*ll**s uniform. But I'm going with the 2022 Gypsy Queen Autograph of William Contreras: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/JMAAAOSwPshnJVC4/s-l1200.png

It's also bittersweet, because I made a bet with a friend that Contreras makes the HoF and I bought this card. A few months later the Braves foolishly traded him.

Contreras is off to quite a start, that’s for sure.
