The second most insane baseball card set is the 2008 Upper Deck Documentary set wherein they recapped every game of the 2008 Season. Cool idea, but the execution wasn't great. This massive set had 4890 cards, with Jesus Flores being the final one: https://www.tcdb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/8957/8957-4844045Fr.jpg
The most insane set is the Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy, which documented every game played in the old Yankee Stadium.
I was wondering about that Documentary set. It comes up everytime I search for Clayton Kershaw rookie cards. I guess it was an early attempt to do something similar to a a Topps Now, but in retail form?
I like the idea of having a set recap every game, but you don't need two cards for every game. Just release a card for the hometeam, that cuts the set number in half. The other problem with Documentary was they picture wasn't from the game and often the player on the card had no relation to the game.
If there was a pic from a critical point in the game or featuring the game's MVP, that'd be a neat set. Rather than release packs, you could release team sets, 81 cards, and they could even include foil/gold stamped stuff for the aftermarket.

Wait...there were baseball cards in 2008?
The Topps design is very forgettable. Too Circus-y.
