Welcome to Day 42 of the 2025 Spring Training Baseball Card Challenge, wherein we revel in the glories of the 1984 Topps Super Keith Hernandez — a card I bought as a single. I’ve written about this card before (right here), so I’ll let you off with just this glimpse of Elaine’s erstwhile boyfriend, looking exactly like he does on his 1984 Topps base card.
It’s Saturday, after all, and I (sorta) promised light reading on the weekends during this challenge. See you tomorrow!

Your Turn!
What’s your “bought as a single” baseball card? Show and/or tell in the comments (or somewhere else) to let our little corner of the world know about it!
The 1990 Leaf Frank Thomas was the Hot card, but I went to my lcs three times a week to ponder the David Justice. I believe it was listed for 12 bucks at the time, but the guy finally offered it to me for 8. I think the most I had was 7, but he let me have it. He got a good deal in retrospect. https://schwartzsportsmemorabilia.com/wp-content/uploads/JUSCAR100.jpg
Belongs in Baseball Hall of Fame. Greatest defensive first baseman.
